typical day of children age 3-5 years

Our typical day in Rainbows…

7.30am
Breakfast Time
Children who attend get a choice of healthy cereals and fruits with milk or water to drink.

8.00am
Free Play
Children have the opportunity to choose from a variety of activities led by the child’s own interests.

8.45am
Drink/toileting

9.00am
Circle time/discussions
This is a great opportunity for the Rainbow children to build their confidence through show and tell items, group discussions and own interests.

9.30am
Outdoor play
Time to be outside in the fresh air. Movements can include large physical play along with activities that encourage discovery and imagination.

10.30am
Toileting/snack
Healthy gold award winning snacks and drinks with 4 weekly rolling menu.

11.00am
Art time
Creative activities that encourage the children’s senses and interests through exploration & imagination.

12.00pm
Music/story time/focus activities
Favourite songs using musical instruments and stories to capture the imagination.

12.30pm
Lunchtime
A social time with peers and key people, a great opportunity to encourage independence and develop children’s nutritional understanding.

1.00pm Onwards
Sleep time/quiet time/toileting/brush teeth/free play
Covering role play and ICT activities and key person activities.

2.00pm
Art Activities
Creative activities that encourage the children’s senses and interests through exploration & imagination.

2.30pm
Toileting/snack
Healthy gold award winning snacks and drinks with 4 weekly rolling menu.

3.00pm
Outdoor play/indoor play
Activities planned for both inside and outside to support the children’s physical development.

4.00pm
Toileting

4.15pm
Afternoon tea
Our afternoon tea is ample to see them through till bed time.

5.00pm – 6.00pm
Free play and choice for tomorrow
Children can also independently choose activities for the next day.
